Michael Salerno

VP Business Development & Sr. Associate General Counsel, Wheelhouse Group

Michael Salerno is the Associate General Counsel of Wheelhouse Group, where he provides business and legal support to all divisions and subsidiaries of the Group, including Wheelhouse Entertainment, Wheelhouse Partners and Wheelhouse Clubs.

Salerno’s main roles with the Wheelhouse Group include sourcing, structuring and executing investment deals, developing investment strategy, providing legal support and guidance to portfolio companies, business development, production counsel support, real estate law and supporting the day to day operations of the Wheelhouse Group and its subsidiary entities.

Salerno’s legal experience spans various industries. He began his legal career in several corporate legal departments including the sport-marketing firm, Altus Marketing and Management and the New England Patriots. Upon graduating from law school, Salerno practiced as a criminal defense trial attorney, serving as lead or co-counsel on over 25 trials and numerous motions. Immediately prior to joining Wheelhouse, Salerno was the Corporate Counsel, for Business and Legal Affairs at the television production company Leftfield Entertainment. Leftfield was founded by the Chief Executive Officer of Wheelhouse, Brent Montgomery. Salerno initially left Leftfield to aid Montgomery in the operating his family office and new business ventures.

Salerno graduated from Connecticut School of Law where he competed on the Moot Court team and was an Executive Editor of the Connecticut Journal of International Law. Salerno is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar and is a Registered In-House Attorney of the state of New York. Salerno is published in the New York State International Law Review, Winter 2012 Edition. He received a B.A. in Political Science from Amherst College where he captained the Football and National Champion Basketball teams. After graduating from Amherst, Salerno spent three years playing professional football in various European countries.
